The Researcher

Steven McLeish BA(Hons), PGDip

I am a graduate from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow where I gained a BA(Hons) Degree in History and a Postgraduate Diploma in Russian Language.   I have also completed courses in Palaeography (the study of old handwriting) which enables me to transcribe old documents.

I have been researching family histories and undertaking military research for several years.  I am a member of The Scottish Genealogy Society and The Central Scotland Family History Society.

Most of my research is carried out in Edinburgh at The National Archives of Scotland and New Register House, though I frequently travel to other record offices as required.  I am happy to embark on any size of project and can tailor my research to suit you.

I am based in West Lothian, though my research covers the whole of the UK.
