Fees and payment

I have rates and packages to suit all budgets and I am happy to discuss this with clients prior to research being carried out.  At the initial enquiry stage, I will discuss with you what you hope to get out of the research and we can decide on a price and timescale.  My basic rate is £20 per hour and I will give you a free estimate of the total costs involved.  Prices will depend on the information required by the client.  Alternatively,  I have several standard packages available which are detailed below.  Please contact me if you require any further information.

Prices

One off searches involve tracing an individual from the official sources. Extracts or print-outs can be supplied. 

These are priced at £20 plus cost of certificate(s) (if applicable)

Basic Family Searches will include information relating to one side (either male or female) of a particular family.

These are priced at £60 plus cost of certificate(s) (if applicable)

Advanced Family Searches will include information on both sides of a particular family.

These are priced at £120 plus cost of certificate(s) (if applicable)

Deluxe Family Searches will include information on both sides of a family and additional information which covers local history of their area, full census details, maps and copies of any certificates.  All information is supplied within an attractive presentation pack.

These are priced at £240 and include cost of certificate(s)

Note: All of the above will include descendent charts

Military Searches will be charged at the standard rate of £20 per hour, but total cost will depend on the period being researched and the information required.

Payment

As much of my costs need to be paid upfront I require a deposit of £20 before I undertake any research.  The remainder of the balance can then be paid once the work is complete.

I accept a wide range of payment methods and will confirm with you which method you prefer.

I find the most reliable and secure method of payment from a client's point of view is via PayPal.  If you wish to make payment with this method, I will send you an email invoice and all you have to do is click on the link within the email to make your payment.  Your card details are kept completely private.

I also accept cheques or bank drafts in Sterling.
